I want to be a professional photographer!

What I want to be after I graduate from high school is a professional photographer. I simply love taking portraits of people. It's my most favorite passion. I can go out for hours at a time and have people pose and just take pictures of them and be completely content. I love it!

For Christmas 2008, my mother bought me a really nice new camera; a Nikon D40, to help me fulfill my dream of becoming a photographer. With my new camera, I am capable of taking better and brighter pictures. I go out and take pictures of my 10yr old cousin; who dreams on and off of being a model. Together, we learn how to do what we love. She learns what a good pose is while I learn good lighting, color, poses, settings, and also how to use my camera better.

Photographers might not make the best paychecks but if it's a passion, should it really matter? I don't believe so. If you have a dream, and life hands you an offer for that dream, even if it's so far out of this world, take it. That's what I believe. Life is starting to hand me an offer for my dream, so I'm taking it, no questions asked.

Photography has been in my life since I was maybe 5 or 6. I used to be a model alongside my older cousin. It was lots of fun. As time started to pass, my cousin and I both learned we'd rather be in control of the camera than be models. My cousin is now in college for photography and filmography, and I'm still in high school. I want to go to college preferably at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Heber, Utah where I can get a master's degree in photography.

After I get out of high school, I will go out and practice more with my camera and take more pictures of my little cousin and learn how to develop my pictures myself. I will also save up a little money at a time so in the future I can afford a really nice professional camera; a Nikon D3X It will take time for its very expensive, but I will do it. That camera is a big part of my dream, my passion, and my future.
